Sloane Hospital for Women patient records, 1888-1928.

An incomplete set of medical records of women seen at Sloane Hospital, 1888-1928. Information in the records varies over time and by type of case. Besides general patient information, obstetrical records often include information on palpation, auscultation, vaginal examination, and urinalysis. There is usually a record of labor and often information on the new-born child. Gynecological cases often include information about menstruation, marital status, personal health history, results of examination upon admission, results of surgery (if applicable), and pathological report. After 1928, Sloane's patient records were interfiled with those of Presbyterian Hospital.
